Chris’s research focuses on the neurobiology of interoception and body–brain communication. He received his PhD in neuroscience from UCSF in 2019, completed his postdoc at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute in 2025, and started his lab at the University of Utah in January 2026. The Zimmerman lab is generously supported by the NIH BRAIN Initiative, Klingenstein Fund, Whitehall Foundation, and University of Utah Health.
